About Course
Program Description
The Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT) program is a specialized professional certification designed for mental health professionals seeking advanced training in the evidence-based principles, techniques, and clinical applications of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Developed to enhance practitioner competence in treating individuals with emotional dysregulation, self-harming behaviors, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and co-occurring conditions, this program provides a structured pathway for learning DBT theory, skills training, case conceptualization, and ethical implementation across diverse clinical settings.
The curriculum emphasizes the four DBT skill modules—Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness—along with strategies for validation, chain analysis, and behavioral change. Participants will also explore the integration of DBT within group and individual therapy formats and its adaptation for adolescents, trauma, and substance use populations.
